Bishop's mantle, steel rings. The bishop's mantle is a chain mail collar that covers the neck, shoulders, and upper chest and back. It was especially favored by the German Landknechte (mercenary soldiers) in the 15th and 16th centuries and is woven similar to a mail coif.
