Round Viking shield with raven motif and triquetras, 61 cm in diameter. The beautiful Viking shield that we offer here is made of 13 mm thick wood, covered with linen and elaborately adorned with so-called triquetras (clover or trinity knots) and ravens. The twin bird motif is a representation of Odin's faithful messengers Hugin e Munin (or Huginn e Muninn), a recurring motif in Celtic and Viking art. In the center, the shield features a large steel boss that is fastened tightly with four rivets, leaving enough room to accommodate even the strongest Viking hands.
