German Longsword
The Cold Steel German Longsword is a high-end, high-performance sword for functional recreation. It has an expertly tempered and heat-treated 1060 steel blade that is perfectly balanced, beautifully polished and hand-sharpened. The leather-wrapped hilt ends in a steel pommel that not only counterbalances the long blade, but also serves as a powerful weapon in its own right. It also provides a comfortable and secure grip even when wearing gloves or gauntlets. The sword includes a hand-stitched leather scabbard with leather straps with brass buckles for carrying the sword on a belt or baldric. CATEGORY B: High quality, well-balanced carbon steel swords, but less hard than Category A. They withstand controlled combat well without strong blows. They must be used with swords of the same hardness. They cannot be guaranteed because they can be damaged if they collide with harder blades, so it is recommended not to use them with Category A swords. The minimum hardness is 48 HRC. They are full tang, screwed or welded to the hilt. Light and easy to handle with a balanced center of gravity. They have a blunt edge and are not sharpened. These types of swords are intended for performing arts, reenactment, historical fencing (HEMA) training and combat.
