Greek Brass Greaves
Zetan BattlereadyJust like the originals, our functional replica are slightly folded over and then clipped over the lower leg. They remain in position without any additional fixation with buckles or the like. The greaves are edged with leather and lined with soft felt. Total length: approx. 52 cm. Weight (pair): approx. 1.9kg.
Protection for the Greek legs (Grebas). Greek hoplites used to be protected by their large round shield. The lower parts of the legs, however, were mostly uncovered. For this reason, the warriors of ancient times used metal greaves. They were usually made of bronze, strong enough to provide good protection, but also thin and light enough to be completely portable.
