Visored Bascinet, Houndskull (Pig Face) Helmet, Circa 1390 Ad
The pig face helmet is a variation on the late medieval bascinet helmet. It is made from riveted armour steel with brass ornamentation. There is a moveable visor as well as comfortable leather inlay with chin strap. The brass rivets at the sides are meant for attaching an aventail for chest and shoulders. You will find various types of aventails in our chain maille section.
