German Sallet Helmet S.Xv
The Sallet-type late medieval helmet was usually worn with a matching bevor or gorget. Size: suitable for head circumference up to 62 cm. Includes leather lining and leather chin strap. Finish: polished (lightly oiled). Weight: 3.4 kg.
This very authentic reconstruction of the medieval German Sallet helmet dating from around 1490 is made from 1.6mm (approximately 16 gauge) thick sheet steel. The visor is attached with beautiful hand forged rivets. It is locked by a pin mounted on the lowest stage. The helmet has a comfortable leather lining and a strong buckled chin strap.
