The high medieval that we offer here is a reconstruction of a so-called closed helmet worn by the Crusaders and the Knights Templar at the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th century. Regarded as the forerunner of the Great Helm, it is also known as a primitive great helm. This beautiful medieval helmet is made of steel, fitted with a slightly flared neck guard and adorned with a brass cross and crown. It features 9.5 cm long and 1-3 cm wide eye slits, as well as numerous round holes on one side and a cross on the other for proper ventilation. The components of the knight's helmet are all connected by steel rivets.
