Saber-Shasha Cossack Cavalry
Shashka in the Circassian language seshjue or sashjo translates as "big" or "long" knife, a weapon of war, a light knife with a long blade but not classified as a type of saber. Slightly curved blade with an edge at the tip - double edge. It measures less than a meter in length. In Russia, different models of shashka have a blade length between 81 and 88 cm. Original Circassian and Cossack shashkas were even lighter and shorter. Handle normally slightly bent in the opposite direction to the curvature of the blade and does not have hand guards.
