Viking Helmet Vendel Period With Chain Mail
Viking helmet for historical re-enactment, from the Vendel period with aventail chain mail, ready for battle. Material: steel approx. 1.6mm. Padded fabric entry and cowhide chin strap. Head circumference TM 62 cm and TL 64 cm.
In the style of a Vendel spangenhelm, we have developed this helmet that is fully suitable for combat. It is suitable for representation from around AD 550 to the Viking Age (late 1066). The hull lid consists of two 1.6 mm thick welded sheet metal pieces, which are reinforced by overlapping riveted iron bands. The Vendel period was an era that precedes the Viking Age, numerous artifacts, jewelry, weapons, and armor pieces have been found in archaeological excavations. The original hull on which our battle-ready rebuild is based was found in Valsgärde.
