Viking Helmet Spangenhelm With Aventail

This viking age goggle helmet is made from 1.2mm steel. It consists of a blackened domed helmet, a browband running along the edge of the bowl, two intersecting strips or bands extending respectively from front to back and from ear to ear, and a spectacle guard (a front plate shield resembling glasses) with nose protection. All components are connected by steel rivets and the spaces between the steel bands are filled with Y-shaped brass plates or segments attached to the vessel with brass rivets. The straps and eye/face protection are embellished with an interlocking or Celtic-style knot pattern. Material: 1.2mm blackened steel bowl, steel bands, brass fittings, leather inlays, leather chin strap. Chainmail Aventail: Steel Butt Rings, ID 9mm.
