Functional Bastard Sword with Scabbard
Blunt bastard sword for historical reenactment made by Hanwei. This sword is functional Cat. B. The blade is forged from 5160 high carbon steel to minimize burrs and provide adequate strength for use in historical reenactments. In addition, the crosswise thickness of the guard has been increased to present a safer profile at its ends. - Total length 126 cm, Blade length 96 cm, Edge thickness: 2.5 - 3 mm, Handle length 28 cm, Weight 1650 g, Rockwell hardness of the blade: approx. 50 HRC. The handle and scabbard are made of leather.
CATEGORY B: High quality, well-balanced carbon steel swords, but less hard than Category A. They withstand controlled combat well without strong blows. They should be used with swords of the same hardness. They cannot be guaranteed because they may be damaged if they collide with harder blades, so it is recommended not to use them with Category A swords. The minimum hardness is 48 HRC. They are full tang, screwed or welded to the hilt. Light and easy to handle with a balanced center of gravity. They have a blunt edge and are not sharpened. These types of swords are intended for performing arts, reenactment, historical fencing (HEMA) training and combat.
