Case with two Italy 1825 dueling pistols for collection, decoration or as a gift. Each measures 39.5 cm. Compared to duels with swords, the use of this type of weapon equalized the opponents since they were in the same conditions when shooting. The duel was produced by the will of one of the parties to clean an insult to his honor. The goal was not specifically to kill the opponent but to achieve the satisfaction of victory by restoring one's honor by putting one's life on the line to defend it. In many countries duels were not officially recognized to save honor, so duelists resorted to holding them in hidden places and almost always at dawn.
